This rod is still very fishable with a little care not to get it too wet
hence the name "Poacher"
Serial number H428 dating the reel to 1915
you may not see one for quite a while
remains clean and bold
as the grip has a very small amount of hand soiling

Very few genuine examples of this model ever come to market
I will also include a scanned copy of the Thomas & Thomas catalog from 1990 when the rod was offered for $3
Lettered on three flats
These reels were made in the early 1990's and manufactured for Orvis in England
The rod weighs 4 1/8 ounces and I would describe it as a medium-fast action rod with lots of reserve power for throwing big bugs and/or for windy days
